The FLAME project and the School of Archaeology
put on an afternoon of metal at the Pitt Rivers Museum in June 2018!
Visitors learned about the origins of metal, experienced the processes
of production, and found out what makes these materials so
special. They were able to talk to experts about current research and consider how the importance of metals for human
societies has changed over the last 10,000 years.
With interactive demonstrations, free activities, and
museum trails it was an event for children and adults of all ages to enjoy!
This page provides access to some of the resources that we developed for the day our original flyers, posters (now being improved and developed into educational resources) and photos of the event.
